Winter at Kobs Lobster Pound, Searsport, Maine E2

In this winter photo of the cape cod style house, Kobs Lobster Pound is covered in snow with the bay to the right. It's located on Rt 1 in Searsport, Maine. Note not only the sign at the road but also the large letters, KOBS on the roof. This was also known as Parkers Lobster Pound and Cundy's. Roadside eateries such as this one sprung up all along Route 1 and other scenic routes during the mid-20th century as motor tourists flocked up the coast to midcoast Maine and Acadia. see also LB2007.1.102401 and LB2007.1.106368
