Searsport, Maine 329

The image shows a newly-built shingled house with a gambrel roof overlooking the bay just west of town. The surrounding land is open, save for a few carefully located trees. The road (Route 1) passes by the house; in the foreground is a field of dandelions that have gone to seed; at the far left is a granite marker of some kind. Telephone poles and wire suggest a ca. 1910-1920 date. Its surroundings have changed, but the house, which is architecturally intact, is now an antiques shop.
