This is a view east from Pendleton Hill overlooking the Searsport waterfront and town center. The scene encompasses the Searsport House, with its hipped roof and white band around the upper story, the tops of the Congregational and Methodist Church towers, views into the residential backyards of the neighborhood, and the shoreline footbridge in the middle ground. It is springtime-- garden plots are plowed up and fruit trees blossoming. This is a good glimpse in to the myriad uses of dooryards and different kinds of outbuildings.
