The photo shows the front of the picturesque residence and tourist home on Route 1 east of Searsport. The idea of the tourist home became popular among local homeowners in scenic areas during the early years of automobile vacation travel in the 19-teens and 'twenties. Guests sit on the spacious front porch, which looks out across the road to the broad view of the bay [see LB2007.1.110133.] A couple of early automobiles are parked in the driveway at the left.
