Sokokis Lake, Limerick, Me. 23
"Sokokis Lake, Limerick, Me. 23" In this scene from the early days of motoring, an unpaved rural road passes over the outlet and granite dam of Sokokis Lake and curves around an old house with two large attached rear ells known as "The Tavern". Another old house with a long ell stands on the far shore. The telephone pole is fitted with an early street lamp. According to Thomas LePage: "The body of water is Sokokis Lake. The building still stands (2019) and is currently a donut/ice cream and seafood takeout. The public boat launch is also located here."
