Baptist Church, Tenants Harbor The Tenants Harbor Baptist Church is located on Wallston Road. The parsonage can be seen to the left of the church. The Tenants Harbor Baptist church was formed in 1842 when nineteen members were sent from the First Baptist Church of St. George to establish this fellowship. The first pastor was Reverend Joseph Kalloch. Lionel Heal, a retired schoolteacher (born c.1931) who has provided much of the historical information about the photographs of Port Clyde and St. George in the PMM Eastern Illustrating and Publishing Co. collection rounded a corner of this road late one night and stopped when he saw fragments of clapboard and other debris in the road.The steeple had been hit by lightning; soon afterwards, Lionelfound himself crawling into the belfry with a hose to ut out the fire.
