M.C.R.R. Station, Bath ME. 29
This view shows the Maine Central's station and platform at the depot in Bath, Maine. Various rail equipment including a locomotive, a freight car, a passenger car, a crane, and piles of miscellaneous items are visible in the yard on the other side of the tracks. The station building is a simple, gabled frame structure enhanced by a large cross gable and Eastlake style details. There are a porte-cochere for dropping off and picking up passengers, a large, tripartite window, cut-out corners, and decorative vergeboards in the main gables. The platform and its canopy extend from the end of the building along the tracks. The roof, supported by turned posts and multiple brackets, has simple scalloped and sawtooth board trim.
