M.C.R.R. Depot, Brunswick ME. 52

This image sighting west up the Maine Central line towards the Brunswick passenger station includes a view of the several sets of track which passed through the center of town. The significant size and modern style of the brick station also alludes to the importance of the Brunswick depot. From Brunswick the Maine Central's lines ran south to Portland and east to Bath, the Androscoggin Line west, and the Augusta Line, north. From the left is a siding and covered passenger platform, then another serving the passengers heading in the other direction, where a short train is paused, steam passing from the engine's exhaust pipe. Farther to the left are the freight tracks and some cars. The tower of the First Parish Church is included in the shot, at the far right.
