The Dining Room -- Chases on Torsey -- Readfield, Maine E126
Image shows the Dining Hall at Chases' lakeside resort. The one-story shingled structure, nestled into the birch woods, likely offered vacationers at the cottages an alternative place to dine and to mix with other families. Chase's camp on Torsey Pond, formerly the Chases Boys' Camp, established in 1898 on the shore of Torsey Pond by John A. Chase, and said to be the first boys' camp in Maine. Other of the camp's cabins remain, all now private residences.
