Phil Nichol's SURPRISE
Steve Bailey, Captain, Friendship sloop Surprise. Friendship Sloop SURPRISE, one of five built by Nichols, was completed when he was 70 years old. SURPRISE was 33 feet long with a beam of 11 feet and draw of 6 feet. The mast was spruce, 35 feet high.
