MARTHA E
The schooner MARTHA E was built in 1910 by Eugene McLain. She is pictured', anchored in front of Frank Studley's wharf at Medomak Landing in Bremen, Maine. This is the only schooner ever built on nearby Long Island in Bremen. Eugene McLain later died in the bay, while attemting to anchor this boat. MARTHA E was named for Eugene's wife, Martha E. Carter McLain.
