SANDRA J underway, October 23, 1982. Built by Bruce Farrin for Maynard Curtis, a junior at the University of Maine who finances his education by lobstering. The SANDRA J , is named for an Australian foreign exchange classmate of Maynard at Rockland High School. Maynard pulls traps and maintains a full course load at UM where he is a candidate for a degree in engineering physics. The boat is a 33 foor fiber glass hull from Young Brothers in Corea with an 11 foot beam and 3 1/2 foot draft.
