Schooner BOWDOIN - - an Arctic explorer - the first to send radio signals from the far North and the first to send colored photos of the Arctic to the National Geographic Society - Built by the Hodgdon Brothers Yard in East Boothbay, Me. in 1921 - shown here during restoration is the BOWDOIN - looking to the stern - new deck beams in place - 5" white oak from Connecticut..
