SURPRISE

The Daysail Schooner SURPRISE, owned by Jack and Barbara Moore sailed out of Camden in the mid 1980's. Built at Rockport, Massachusetts in 1918 by Thomas Waddell, the 44 foot long SURPRISE has a beam of 12 feet and draw of 6 feet. She is licensed to carry 18 passengers on day trips. Prior to starting this venture the Moores had voyaged with their 4 children more than 20,000 miles between Maine and the Caribbean, keeping school as they sailed.
