Schooner TIMBERWIND

TIMBERWIND was built at Brown's Wharf, Portland, Maine in 1931 and is 70 feet long on deck with a beam of 19 feet, draft of 10 ft. 6 in., and carries 3,000 square feet of sail. She was formerly named PORTLAND PILOT and served the Portland Pilots Assn. for 38 years. In 1971 she was restored as a windjammer and operated by Skipper Bill Alexander, a school teacher from Albion, Maine. Her home port was Rockport, Maine until 2015. After 3 years in Belfast, she moved to Portland in 2018. The schooner TIMBERWIND took part inthe 4th annual Great Schooner Race on July 18, 1980
