TAPPAN

TAPPAN, a 35 ft. wooden lobster boat, was built in Edward "Buddy" Poland 's shop at Round Pond, Maine, for his 20 year old son Frank. Fred Tappan was one of the principal builders and the boat was named in his honor. Pictured by the new boat's bow are Fred Tappan, Harley Burns and others, deciding how to move the boat to the water. It was raining and the ground was muddy. This was May 26, 1979, the day before the new boat was launched.
