TAPPAN

The christening of the new lobster boat TAPPAN was performed by Gwen Poland, mother of Frank Poland, its owner. The boat was already in the water but still on its cradle. The 35 ft. wooden boat was built in Edward "Buddy" Poland 's shop at Round Pond, Maine, for his 20 year old son Frank. Fred Tappan was one of the principal builders and the boat was named in his honor. Launching took place May 27, 1979.
