Here is the mess table aboard the windjammer SYLVINA W. BEAL. Note the kerosene lamp as well as an electric light above the table. Also note the sign on the post, which reads: "OUR CAPTAIN is always right, misinformed perhaps, sloppy, crude, bullheaded, fickle, even stupid, but, NEVER WRONG!"
