Christening of the new fishing vessel ROBERT F. O'HARA was performed by Mrs. R. F. O'Hara with her husband observing. This event took place August 7, 1971, at South Bristol, Maine. The 109 foot steel side trawler was the one of several built by Harvey F. Gamage Shipbuilder, Inc., for Dorothy M. O'Hara,, Inc., associated with Frank J. O'Hara & Sons of Rockland, Maine. Designed by John W. Gilbert Associates of Boston, she hasda 24 ft. beam and 12 foor draft, displacing 305 tons. Fish hold is 7,400 cubic feet. Built under the U S Fishing Fleet Improvement Act, it was financially subsidized by the federal government.
