PROUD MARY
Harold Webber is shaping a mahogany plank at Atlantic Boat Works in Boothbay Harbor for a schooner under construction. The owner will be Eugene Kral, a gem cutter from Flushing, N.Y. George Stadel, Jr.of Stamford, Conn. designed PROUD MARY with a length of 43 feet 10 inches, beam of 13 feet 4 inches and draft of 5 feet 11 1/2 inches. The 4-ton keel of poured lead supports the extra heavy 1 and 3/4 inch thick Honduran mahogany planking.
