Rockport Apprentice Shop
EGALITE came out of the boat shed on May 24, 1986, at the Rockport Apprenticeshop. She was the second of three 38 ft.French gigs built by students between 1985 and 1988. In this pciture her aft sail is seen. The non-profit wooden boat school operated in Rockport, Maine, from 1982 to 1992. It was founded in Bath, Maine, in 1972. From 1992-1995 it was in Nobleboro and in 1995 moved to Rockland, Maine, where it continues in its 50th year in 2022.
