Cabin picket boat CG-2385

From collection Elmer Montgomery Collection

Cabin picket boat CG-2385

CG-2385 being loaded on railroad flatcar. Thirty-eight foot cabin picket boat. Built by the Gibbs Gas Engine Co. Jacksonville, FL, 1931. This is taking place on the Maine Central Railroad tracks at Rockland’ south end, with Socony oil tanks in background. Picket boat looks used. This may have been the CPB from Burnt Island being sent to New York when that Station was established in 1941. There’s also a motor surfboat, probably the CRANBERRY Island station boat on an adjoining flatcar.
