Extraneous caption info above relates to images not included. On January 23rd, 1910, the American 6-masted schooner MERTIE B. CROWLEY, on voyage from Baltimore to Boston with 5000 tons of coal, was wrecked on the west side of SkiffÆs Island Shoal, off Chappaquiddick, Vineyard Haven. The MERTIE B. CROWLEY broke her back, but all on board were saved while clinging in the rigging. Other source: wrecked at Wasque Shoal, off Wasque Point, Martha's Vineyard, MA.
