93' schooner CHATTANOOGA built by George A. Carver in 1865 at Searsport Maine. Weight and Dimensions: 155.54 gross tons, 93.0' long x 26.0' breadth x 8.0' depth The two masted schooner CHATTANOOGA with a crew of 4 men plus Capt. Morgan was bound from New York to Bucksport with a cargo of coal. She stranded 500 yards south of Orleans (Cape Cod) Life Saving Station and was a total loss.

[From the Cradle to the Grave exhibit] Chattanooga, Searsport-built in 1865, sailed for a quarter century. On a run from New York with a cargo of coal, and a crew of five under Captain Morgan, she grounded on Nauset Beach, partway along the seaward side of Cape Cod in 1890. She was a total loss.
