A map of the Penobscot River entitled "Plan of the interior parks of the country from Penobsctot to Quebec by a scale of 25 miles to an inch. Joseph Chadwick, surveryor." The envelop includes a hand-written explanation by Dr Noyes: "Garlhurst(?) Map of Exploration of Penobscot River. This will also fit an article copied out of Wheeling'(?) Hist[ory of] Castine about French contending against Eng[lish] ... Pantagoet so as to have control of Mouth of Penobscot to get to Quebec by a route direct to the Atlantic."
