Leon's Sarsaprilla Church St
Leon's Sarsaprilla, Church St., Peirce Block The Leon Sarsaparilla Company began operations in Peirce's Parlor Theatre, which had been leased for its use, in the spring of 1893. Captain Charles Baker was president, and for a short time did a successful business. Peirce's Block was located on Church Street across from the Opera House. It was dedicated on Thanksgiving eve, 1852, with a ball. It was seventy-seven by fifty-two feet, with a gallery, and was eighteen feet high. The walls were adorned with scenic papering.
