Cloud Picture at Gun Club
This appears to be a man engaging in trap shooting. Trap shooting is generally when the targets are launched from multiple locations as opposed to skeet which is generally launched from a single location behind the shooter. In this view the clay pigeon (target) throwers are located behind the wall in distance. The ropes leading from behind the shooter are attached to the throwers behind the wall. When the shooter is ready, he calls to the person controlling the ropes who would then "pull" them, thus launching a target for the shooter to fire at. The shooter appears to be shooting a double barrel shotgun. The most common gun would be a 12 gauge. Next to the shooter is a stand where the shooter would keep his ammunition. This scene may be at the Belfast Rifle Club, formed in 1885, which was composed of local sportsmen.
