Frothingham Cat
Frothingham Cat This may be Ellen Frothingham's cat. She was the daughter of the Reverend William Frothingham, the minister who took over the First Church in 1819. The reverend was Unitarian in leanings. This precipitated the departure of those members wh were more Congregational in their thinking. They eventually formed the North Congregational Church. The schism lasted until 1921when the groups reunited at the First Church
