Overreached. A Story of Love on Stilts is copyright by Keppler & Schwarzmann, New York - 1896. They were the publishers of Puck Magazine from which this comic strip was probably copied. Puck was an American magazine of political satire and other humor, published in English and German editions in the 19th and early 20th century. The magazine was published by Keppler & Schwarzmann, a publishing team consisting of Joseph Ferdinand Keppler and Adolph Schwarzmann, who began publishing Puck in 1871 in Saint Louis as a German-language humor magazine. They began publishing an English language version of Puck in New York in 1877 which became hugely popular. PUBLICATION HISTORY The first German Puck published in New York came out in 1876; the first English issue came out in 1877. (An earlier version of the magazine may have been published in St. Louis, but if so, the New York edition seems to have started again with Volume 1, number 1.) There was also a British edition briefly in 1889 and 1890. Puck published its last issue in 1918.
