SS PEMAQUID at Sargentville Wharf

A photo on postcard stock of the Steamboat Wharf at Sargentville. The wharf and building with two steamboats, one tied up, the other leaving. The former is "PEMAQUID", of the Maine Central RR. There is a pencil note on the back, addressed to Grace Higgins with no other information. LB2012.28.156, 155 and 154 are a sequence of PEMAQUID approaching, then with a second steamer still tied up, finally with PEMAQUID tied up and the other boat leaving. Steamships leaving and docked at the Sargentville wharf. Wharf built by the Sargentville Steamboat Wharf Co. in 1887 and operated by them until 1905. Then it was sold to the Eastern Steamship Lines which continued to operate it till steamboat service was discontinued about 1937-8.
