Steamers at Sargentville Wharf

A small dock and building, with one passenger steamer secured and another approaching or leaving the dock at Sargentville. Steamers, Docks, Bays (Bodies of water) This wharf was built by the Sargentville Steamboat Wharf Co. in 1887, was operated by them until 1905. The Eastern Steamship Co. continued to operate it until steamboat service was discontinued about 1937-8. This photo is pre-1905. Hiram Harding and his son, Frank, operated a sail loft on the second floor from 1887-1917. Kiln and pulpwood cut over a wide area was shipped from this wharf.
