Square Dancing 10
In this image square dancers face their partners and tap their hands patty-cake style while others look on from the sidelines of the small room.
Ruohomaa focusses on how the participants' interplay reflects the process of learning and the sometimes awkward and unfamiliar proximity of neighbors and strangers. In this improvised dance hall Kosti finds his preferred subject matter: the folkways of ordinary people at work and as here, at play.
