Sherburn Sleeper House, Congress Street, Belfast, Maine

Seen here is a color image of the Sherburn Sleeper House on Congress Street, Belfast, Maine. It was designed by Calvin Ryder of Winterport and built in 1840. It is a Greek Revival style, with 2 stories, wood frame construction with clapboard siding. It has porches with Doric columns and cast iron balconies. Maplewood Poultry Company bought the house in the mid-1960s. Peter and Lois Higer lived there from 1967 to 1969. The Higer family owned Maplewood Poultry Company.
