Bulk Feed Grain Elevator, Belfast, Maine

This color image shows one of the prominent features of the industrial waterfront of Belfast, Maine which was the concrete bulk feed grain elevator, built at the foot of Main Street in 1965, and was used by Maplewood Poultry Company. Rail cars filled the structure up with grains, vitamins, minerals and other supplements and trucks transported the feed to poultry growers throughout Waldo County. It was demolished in 1984. At the far left is the 8' x 8' 40 ton grain bin. Just behind the white cylindrical tank is the 8' x 8' x 40' 60 ton grain bin. At the right of the white,cylindrical tank is a bulk carrying railcar which would have delivered grain, et al to the grain elevator.
