Children Watch as Bagpipe Band Plays
This image shows part of a bagpipe band dressed in full regalia playing while a group of small children watch from the ground just in front of them. The youngsters' eyes are at about the same level as the pipers' tartan wool knee socks and gleaming white boots.
The scene is from a Highland Games festival hosted by the Caledonian Club of Boston in 1945.
From Kost's low camera angle, the viewer shares the childrens' perspective as they take in the impressive sights and sounds of the moment.
